P4 Shared Education- Magnificent Minibeasts
On our second day of shared collaboration, we were delighted to welcome the P3/4 class from Orchard County to our school. We began the morning with our ‘Millipede March’ in the hall, where Group 1 performed for Group 2 before swapping over. Both groups showcased some impressive moves, and we’re excited to keep developing our routine!
After some fun minibeast‑themed icebreakers, the children split into mixed groups to take part in two different activities.
In one room, pupils used their ICT skills to create digital drawings of insects and minibeasts using Adobe Express. Working in teams of two or three, they experimented with a variety of brushes, backgrounds and 3D effects. They also discussed what they liked about their creations and what changes they might make next time.
In the second room, pupils worked in small groups to write their own minibeast shape poems, using facts they had learned in last week’s session. Everyone had the chance to contribute ideas before decorating their poems with card to enhance their final designs. The children chose creative, alliterative titles for their work, and some even shared their poems with the whole class.
