The P4 children spent a lovely day in Orchard County P.S. as their Shared Education programme for this year began. The children were split into mixed groups and began learning about our new World Around Us topic 'Minibeasts'.
In one room the children used the Just2Easy programmes to create a pictogram, bar chart and pie chart representing which minibeast they found on the scavenger hunt picture. They had the opportunity to save their work and add more pictures and text to their creations.
After swapping the children discussed minibeast habitats, focusing on the spider and its web design. After collecting some outdoor art (twigs and leaves) they made their own spider webs and had great fun discussing their final piece, talking about what they liked and what they might do differently next time.
Despite the rain we had a great day making new connections and we look forward to welcoming Miss Barnes and the P3/4 class to our school next week.
