P.6 Experiment : Growing Conditions

2nd Nov 2019

During our research into the Vikings, we discovered that one of the reasons that they decided to go in search of other land was because their land was not really suitable for growing plants. We decided to test how the acidity of the soil effects the plants. After looking at the tiny cress seeds, we began our fair test experiment. We used the same type of bowls, kitchen roll and amount of liquid. It was difficult to weigh the seeds so we used a pinch of them for each bowl. We tried to make our test, a fair test. We put 20 mls of water into bowl A, 10 mls of water and 10 mls of vinegar into bowl B and 20 mls of vinegar into bowl C. We placed the bowls together on the worktop, recorded our predictions and now we are looking forward to watching what happens next.
