We travelled back in time with two fearsome Norse men and learned their ways. It was obvious we were slaves because we didn't carry any weapons but some of us got to experience how to use the spear and the beard-axe as well as defend ourselves with the heavy shields! We found out that the 'Vikings' were as vicious as our research had led us to believe.
In the scriptorium, we had an opportunity to experience writing with a quill and ink. We worked quietly, just like the monks of old, using all our energy to concentrate on the task.
We finished our day chatting with Paul about Viking life. He had lots of interesting facts to share with us and showed us some artefacts.
It was a fabulous day and we'll all remember 795 AD in the future.
